October is AAC Awareness Month

October is AAC awareness month! So Bridges will be providing resources, tips, and news, as well as making some new product announcements related to AAC devices.

Breaking the ICE Conference – October 3^rd  

Breaking the ICE is a unique opportunity for AAC device users and their families to connect, share ideas, and learn from other AAC device users. Bridges has been volunteering at Breaking the ICE for awhile now and we helped get Breaking the ICE, West in BC off the ground.  This year, Iain will be in Toronto and Claire in Burnaby to try to connect the two conferences via video link.  Good Luck everyone and send lots of positive technology vibes their way on Saturday.

Bridges Eye Learn Classroom Packages

We’ve put together easy to implement eye gaze solutions, specifically designed for the designated special needs classroom: a sturdy, flexible mount, MyGaze camera and specially selected software. We were overwhelmed by the positive response to these bundles by the teachers who tried them out this past spring and fall.  Now fine tuned, we're ready to share them with schools across Canada.

As eye gaze is becoming an ever more popular and affordable access method, we want to make sure you’re armed with the information you need.  The Bridges team has been working hard to pull together what we’ve learned about successfully implementing eye gaze to help users make decisions that are right for individuals and classrooms.

Grid 3 Launch and Bridges LIVE, Truro, Nova Scotia

We're coming out east to host two events.  On the afternoon of the 27th we're launching the new breakthrough Grid 3 Augmentative communication and Access software. On the 28th, Bridges LIVE! will be looking at special needs curriculum and technology for the classroom.  As part of that participants will explore eye gaze and special needs curriculum that can significantly impact AAC users.
