Boardmaker V6 for Mac - discontinued
Tobii-Dynavox has announced several updates concerning their Boardmaker Product Family:
- Boardmaker V6 for Mac is no longer be available for purchase
- Boardmaker for Mac will not support Sierra or High Sierra OS
- There will no longer be support for Dedicated Installer (DI) Codes for Boardmaker V6 for Windows or Mac. The DI for Boardmaker allowed users to run Boardmaker without a CD in the drive.
For those who were considering buying Boardmaker or have purchased one in the past, please keep in mind that the software can still be installed via CD. This is especially advantageous to schools that plan to share their license between multiple computers. However, if your machines do not have CD-ROM drives, you will need to consider other options.
Widgit, with their ability to symbolize over 50,000 words including Canadian curricular vocabulary has two different apps for supporting communication, access to information, literacy and language learners of any age. InPrint 3, is a Windows desktop installed layout software for education and communication professionals.
However, InPrint 3 runs on Windows only. For a Macs or Chromebooks (or Windows computers if you prefer the convenience and shareability of the cloud), Widgit Online lets you easily create visual schedules, communication boards, worksheets and symbol supported stories right within the web browser, without the need to install a software. And you can even read out loud your symbolized docs on an iPad too.

Hi Krista,
I tried to get a Mac version a dozen times, but nothing works. The Windows version will download and go through the installation process (giving me false hope), but the program won’t run. The only thing that does work is BoardMaker Online. There’s a 30-day free trial version. However, when the time is up, you’d have to pay at least $100.00 for an annual subscription.

Hi, I recently purchased Boardmaker Plus V6 windows version but I needed a MAC version, I see you no longer sell the MAC version? If not will the windows version work on a MAC that has a CD drive? Just trying to trouble shoot how I am going to install Boardmaker onto all their MAC PC’s and laptops, thanks.
